3 Reading response journal entries (may be written in marbled composition book, emailed to me, or entered in book blog) per week to be turned in on Friday
Students earn extra credit points by posting their response journals on the blog rather than turning them in on paper.

Vocabulary Research shows that students are most successful in learning the deeper meaning of words and incorporating this new vocabulary into their reading and writing when given five per week. We will discuss and use additional vocabulary words as they arise through reading and discussion in class.
